Meet Nishi
Travel writer & Content Creator
Hey! I’m Nishi (pronounced like ‘fishy’)
I’m a travel writer and video content creator exploring the world with my husband, documenting our adventures and sharing honest, independent travel advice along the way.
I love to travel in search of unique memorable experiences so I have the most incredible stories to come home with. The kind of experiences that stay with you long after the flight home – the hidden cocktail bar tucked behind an unmarked door, the family-run café serving unforgettable vegetarian food, wholesome encounters with locals and the sunrise that somehow makes the early alarm worth it.
The best stories are usually found somewhere between a luxury boutique hotel, a crowded street food stall and an unexpected detour.
And while I’ll happily wake up at 4am for a once-in-a-lifetime experience, I also love nothing more than ending the day in a beautiful hotel with cloud-like sheets, thoughtful design and a view worth slowing down for.
This space is a collection of those moments.
Here, you’ll find curated destination guides shaped by my own experiences, a love for boutique stays that feel luxurious without the eye-watering price tag and a mostly vegan approach to discovering local food scenes – from late-night street eats to destination-worthy restaurants.
My travels are rooted in cultural experiences and soft adventure: the kind of travel that blends immersive local experiences with a little comfort. Whether that’s scuba diving in crystal-clear waters, kayaking through caves, paddle boarding at sunrise, wandering through historic neighbourhoods, or discovering places beyond the typical tourist trail.
Along the way, I share honest reviews, practical travel tips, photography, videos and the small details that can turn a good trip into an unforgettable one. My goal is simple: to help you create experiences and memories you’ll still be talking about years later.
This blog is for independent travellers who want to make the most of their annual leave, weekends and budget while exploring the world. Whether you’re planning a quick city break or a bigger adventure, you’ll find practical, easy-to-follow advice to help you recreate my experiences in a way that works for your style of travel.
Above all, this is a space for travellers chasing meaningful experiences, memorable stories and a little more adventure in everyday life.

WHAT MY READERS SAY ABOUT ME

About Nishi V
I’m a Londoner with a love for cultural travel, soft adventure, beautiful boutique hotels, and experiences that make a trip unforgettable.
Although I now call London home, I actually grew up in the Midlands before moving to the city at 18 – around the same time my love of travel really began.
Midway through my Business Management degree, I somehow managed to convince my parents to let me move to Florence for a few months to complete a fashion internship. A traditional career path never quite felt like me, but my degree was intended to be the sensible “backup plan” in case none of my creative ambitions worked out.
At 19, it was not only my first solo trip, but also my first time leaving the country without my family – and the experience completely changed me.
I quickly fell in love with Italy: the food, the culture, the effortless beauty of everyday life. Between fashion school, language classes and weekend adventures across the country with my roommate, I experienced a kind of freedom and excitement I’d never known before.
Not long after returning home, I met my husband, Jass.
Early on in our relationship, I told him about Capri – how much I’d fallen in love with the island during my travels, how impossibly romantic it felt, and how I dreamed of getting married there one day. Back then, Capri wasn’t the Instagram-famous destination it is today. Camera phones barely existed, let alone internet access on them, and the island still felt like a beautifully kept secret.
A few years later, Jass surprised me with a trip back to Capri, where he got down on one knee with a ring.
Reader, I married him.
Since then, we’ve travelled the world together, collecting stories, experiences and memories along the way – many of which I originally documented in handwritten travel journals long before I even knew what a blog was.

Shortly after graduating, I built a career in makeup and beauty, which eventually led me to launch this blog in 2014. What started as a space to help fellow women of colour find beauty products that genuinely worked for their skin tones quickly grew into something much bigger.
The blog went on to receive industry recognition, including two awards; one of which was the New Generation Beauty Influencer Award, Best For Women Of Colour in 2017.
Meanwhile, I continued travelling whenever I could, documenting snippets of my trips on YouTube through travel vlogs, while gradually falling out of love with the beauty industry.
Stepping away from beauty made me realise that travel had always been the constant – the thing I was most passionate about sharing. Over time, my blog naturally evolved into a space focused on independent mid-range and luxury travel for couples, blending cultural experiences, soft adventure and beautiful stays that feel worth the splurge.
People often tell me, “you’re so lucky you get to travel so much,” but I truly believe travel is more accessible than many people think. With careful planning, prioritising and smart budgeting, it’s absolutely possible to explore the world while working full-time and without spending a fortune.
So far, I’ve travelled to over 50 countries across four continents – and yes, I did manage to achieve my goal of visiting 40 countries before turning 40.
My list of places I want to see somehow keeps getting longer, and honestly, I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Most of all, I hope this space inspires you to start planning your own unforgettable adventures, too

Today, I’m a full-time content creator, building a life that allows me to combine my love of travel, food, culture and soft adventure.
Over the past decade, this blog has opened doors I never could have imagined – introducing me to incredible people, unforgettable destinations and opportunities to work with brands I genuinely admire, including some of the world’s leading travel companies.
On nishiv.com, you’ll find thoughtfully curated travel guides, honest recommendations, detailed itineraries, hotel reviews, London discoveries and plenty of inspiration for making the most of your time away – whether that’s a long weekend city break or a bucket-list escape abroad.
Above all, I want this space to feel inspiring, approachable, and genuinely useful – the kind of resource that gives you the confidence to plan your own unforgettable experiences.
And when I’m not travelling? You’ll probably find me in a coffee shop planning my next trip, heading to a reformer Pilates class, or curled up with a psychological thriller I can’t put down.
I’m on YouTube too!
